  4. ISIS is an islamic state group in which turned to terrorist group in Syria that started as a group helping their community by portecting their shipments but for something in return. They are trying to achieve full control of all factories and goods as well as to take all western believes out of islam since they think that they are poisoning them. The US is concerned because if they don't do nothing now it can lead to another 9/11 but also because they are a threat to US resources .

    1. Amayrani, your ideas are on point, but your paragraph is all over the place. Watch your structure and make sure to have an intro, main idea and conclusion in order to score a 4. How does full control of factories and goods have anything to do with western beliefs? I see what you are trying to say, but it is not clear.

  5. ISIS stands for Islamic State of Iraq & Syria. ISIS is a terrorist organization that is clearly a threat to the US because we get oil in Saudi Arabia. We are really concerned about the terrorist group because their goal is to carve a new Islamic state from Iran and Syria. This goal also leads to controlling Saudi Arabia, which is US source of resources. The US needs to get involved because, as previously mentioned, the US gets oil from Saudi Arabia. If ISIS controls Saudi Arabia, then American wouldn't have access to resources. So if we don't stop ISIS from achieve their dominance, then America would collapse. We would collapse because we depend on oil so much.

    1. If i know nothing about ISIS and I read this, my first question is: If ISIS is in Iraq and Syria, why are we worried about Saudi Arabia? I need you to make that connection for the reader. Also, why would carving a new state out of Iraq and Syria effect Saudi Arabia? You leap straight to America will collapse without oil-- you may need to bridge that gap for your readers who can't see how ISIS taking Saudi Arabia would have an effect on us.

ISIS goals is to become there own state with government and laws but whats wrong is that they have strick religions laws and i believe everyone get to choose or do what they want. They kill people who are not Muslims they start making there own laws also courts and takes over land to make there state bigger. The U.S is responding with airstrike and protecting saudi Arabia cause that were U.S gets it oil.

  12. ISIS is an extremist terrorist group that has arose as the new organization that poses a threat to many. ISIS is trying to take over part of the Middle East, more specifically, northern Iraq and southern Syria in order for the creation of a new Islamic state to take place in where Muslim ideology would rein due to the expectations set by the organization of ISIS from their religious beliefs. This terrorist organization is trying to achieve the creation of a state modeled by the Muslim religion. With the situation of ISIS going on, the U.S. is now considering their involvement in the Middle East in order to put a stop to ISIS because not only do they pose a threat to the safety of our and other people but as well as there being a threat to the resources that we are able to obtain from the Middle East.

  15. ISIS is a group who were helpful people to begin with. Later on they become a extremist/terrorist group who's goal is to achieve a caliphate country by violently attacking civilians. They have so much power that many people are afraid to rise up of else their resources will be shut off since ISIS controls it to. The U.S has the need to get involve because ISIS has taken over the Saudi Arabia resources. One of those special resources includes oil. So if they take that oil, U.S is in a huge situation.

  19. ISIS is an extremist group that has gained a large amount of power in a very short amount of time. The goal of ISIS is to 'carve' a new state in Northern Iraq and Southern Syria. 20. I learned that ISIS goal is to create a new state and a caliphate government. Caliphate meaning islamic leader and Quranic laws. Why is the US involved? because ISIS has control of the northern part of Saudi Arabia. Which means they have control over the oil. If they decide to cut off the trade of oil, the US economy is at risk. Meaning we will be poor.

The U.S does not do anything about it because they are scared that the terrorist will take all there electricity water and necessary things. 23. ISIS is a muslim terrorist that origanaly helped the people of the middle east then overtime seized controll of power. Their goals is to create a state in which they rule the people based on the qaran. They have control of oil fields, factories, powerplants etc. That one of the main reasons why the people will not rebell against them because they want their resourses. The US is also getting involed bcause after all the US nedds oil.

  24. The US needs to get involved because they need the ressources which is the oil, and the ISIS have control over Northern Syria; they have oil. Now that Saudi Arabia have been threaten by the ISIS, the US need to help out Saudi Arabia but the US is afraid to send military. Neither other states have help out Sadia Arabia, ISIS have stoled, kidnapped, killed, and destroyed everything from factories, power plants, water or they put waste on rivers just to get everyone to follow rules.

  25. ISIS is an extremist group that came to power after helping areas that had no government presence just to take over those areas. I found that in the videos that ISIS wants a country that follow the Koran along with a leader who enforces them. Also, that they have many resources ranging from factories, oil wells and to power stations, even in illegal business, they will have ways to gain money. In areas in Iraq and Syria, ISIS controls about 1/3 of those countries ,but the U.S. is trying to fight them off so that they don't go to areas like Saudi Arabi.

The U.S is responding to this by firing bombs.

  27. ISIS is an organized terrorist group that controls millions already with weapons, income, and power. ISIS's goal is to take over the mid-eastern countries and gain more money and control. ISIS is trying to control it and we are trying to protect the middle east.

  28. In today's lesson, we took on the topic of 'ISIS'. ISIS is an Islamic extremist group on a quest for power in the Middle East that is working to institue a caliphate type government. A caliphate government is a government that is run by an Islamic leader under strict rule of the Quran. The US is concerned because ISIS is taking over places near Saudi Arabia where we get our oil and we don't like that. Not only that, but they've posed a threat to our people and the US feels the need to rectify that. Just like they did with the bombs they dropped during World War 1. So in hindsight, ISIS is a terrorist group that wants to institute a new type of government and the US doesn't like that because that means they won't have the control we're used to having.

  29. ISIS is the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria. A group of terrorists that came out of Al Qaeda, which doesn't mean that Al Qaeda support them (Yup Crazies believe that that ISIS is beyond the lunatic scale). They operate in Iraq and Syria, as the name points out. Their main goal is to create a new state in Northern Iraq and Southern Syria to create a Caliphate (Placed controlled by Islam leader and Quran, Emphasis on religion). Also, the US is getting involved in this because of the oil most of the middle east countries posses, like Saudi Arabia.

    ReplyDelete
  30. The Islamic State of Iraq and Syria is an armed insurgence group that was off-shooted by Al Qaeda many years ago. Once as a group who aided the people who followed Islam have now turned to committing atrocities to create a caliphate, a government run by an Islamic leader. Their motives are all in the attempts to carve a new state from northern Iraq and southern Syria. With these problems arising in the Middle East, the U.S. has now taken action to what most would think as an act of patriotism, but in really the U.S. is avoiding a crash in their economy since they own oil within the states of Syria and Iraq.

  52. What does it mean for a person to be truly evil?
I think being evil is when a person dose negative actions and dose not feel guilt towards their actions.

Do you believe that pure evil exists, or does everyone have a little good in them? EXPLAIN and GIVE SPECIFIC EXAMPLES.
i think that people have good in them in their own point of view . For example they might have evil views on something and good towards some thing they care for like family

Where do you believe evil comes from? If you believe in an all-powerful, all-loving God, then why is there evil in the world?
I think evil comes from negative life experiences and wanting to have revenge .

Is evil necessary in order for there to be good?
Yes, like there needs to be poor so that there can be rich. In my point of view

Finally, is there a cure for evil? If so, what is it? If no, why not?
maybe when they reach their goal like babe ISIS might stop killing when they get their islamic state .

  53. For a person to be truly evil they must be everything a loving person isn't they must have the opposite of what other people do have, A truly evil person would have no heart give no mercy and not have a conscience , not think twice about what they have done or are doing.
I believe everyone has a little good in them even though they have done horrible things they are still human and experience feelings like anyone else, unless this person is a total psycho and doesn't think at all then thats a different way of viewing things.
I believe evil comes with the belief of God and the Devil. there is where all the good or bad was judged by, the bible the ten commandments states the things you can not do, those are considered bad work of the devil. I totally believe there is evil in this world all around it.

They plan to do this so that they can create an islamic state spanning those two states. If ISIS are ever able to achieve their goal they would be taking over the states and their people but also the resources, this can be problematic for a large country like the U.S. who's main supply of oil comes from the middle east. It is because of this that the U.S. feels the need to step in and make sure the rebel group is not successful.
